Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute - Monash University

The Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI) is internationally recognised for scientific excellence and global leadership in regenerative medicine and advanced therapies. Established in April 2009 through a joint venture between Monash University and the Victorian Government, ARMI has grown into one of the world’s largest institutes dedicated to regenerative medicine, stem cells and advanced therapies, earning a strong international reputation for high-quality research, academic prestige and publication impact. Located within Monash University in Melbourne, ARMI contributes to the discovery, development and translation of regenerative medicines and advanced therapies that are reshaping healthcare—from stem-cell and gene therapies to tissue engineering. These innovations hold transformative potential for treating inherited rare diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular conditions, cancers and age-related decline. ARMI also plays a critical role in developing Australia’s future scientific leaders through postgraduate education and programs modelled on the world-renowned EMBL research framework, ensuring Australia remains competitive in the global regenerative medicine landscape.
